Ghost Loop: The Free Game Where Your Only Enemy Is You
Ghost Loop is a free online arcade game where every round lasts 8 seconds and you must grab a gem before time runs out. When the round ends, your movement becomes a ghost that replays it exactly in every later round. Touch any ghost and the run is over, so by round 20 you are dodging 19 perfect copies of yourself. It runs in any browser on desktop and mobile, with no download and no account.
How to play Ghost Loop
- Grab the gem. A pink gem appears somewhere in the arena. Reach it before the 8-second timer (the bar at the top and the ring around your spirit) runs out.
- Leave an echo. When the round ends, the tape rewinds and everything you did in those 8 seconds becomes a ghost.
- Dodge yourself. Each ghost replays its path from the start of every new round. Dotted trails show where each one is about to go.
- Survive as long as you can. Miss the gem or touch a ghost and the run ends, followed by a slow-motion replay of the moment your past caught you.
Controls: WASD or arrow keys; on desktop you can also hold the mouse button and your spirit glides toward the cursor; on phones and tablets drag anywhere for a floating joystick. Press P or Esc to pause.

Why Ghost Loop is so addictive
- You create your own difficulty. Wild, looping paths early on come back to haunt you later. Smart players learn to move in clean lines.
- Every run tells a story. The replay shows exactly which version of you ended the run: “caught by your round 7 self”.
- Risk vs reward. Grazes and shards are worth more the more crowded the arena gets.
- Six spirit skins (Spirit, Ember, Toxic, Phantom, Gold Rush, Prism) and nine achievements to unlock.
- Daily Challenge with the same seed for everyone, reset at 00:00 UTC, plus all-time, weekly and daily leaderboards that only accept server-verified runs.
Tips from the top of the leaderboard
- After you grab the gem, stop somewhere quiet. A ghost that stands still is much easier to dodge than one that wanders.
- Keep paths short and straight. Every zig-zag you draw today is an obstacle tomorrow.
- Read the dotted trails. They show the next half-second of every ghost’s route.
- Use the half-second of spawn safety. Ghosts can’t hit you until they finish materializing at the start of a round.
- Graze on purpose once the multiplier climbs. At x3.0 one graze is worth 120 points.

Because every round you survive adds one more ghost. Round 10 has 9 ghosts on screen and round 20 has 19, and every one of them is a perfect recording of your own earlier movement. The better you play, the more of yourself you have to dodge.
How does scoring work in Ghost Loop?
A gem is worth 100 points plus a speed bonus of up to 100 for grabbing it fast. Each of the 3 golden shards is worth 30, collecting the gem and all 3 shards in one round adds a 60-point Perfect Loop bonus, and every ghost you pass within a whisker of adds a 40-point Graze. All points are multiplied by 1 + 0.1 per ghost on screen, up to x5.0.
What is a Graze in Ghost Loop?
A Graze happens when you slip past one of your ghosts very closely without touching it. Each ghost can be grazed once per round for 40 points before the multiplier, so brave players score far more than careful ones.
What is the Ghost Loop Daily Challenge?
The Daily Challenge gives every player the same seed for the day, so gems and shards spawn from the same sequence for everyone. It resets at 00:00 UTC and has its own daily leaderboard.
Can I play Ghost Loop on my phone?
